Mercat Bistro: the ultimate Instagram hang spot. This cute little bistro has an outdoor extension that makes you feel like you’re dining on the streets of Paris . It’s worthy of IG dreams. And their food backs that up! Get the ricotta with honey, crab benedict and Péché Mignon.
El Bolero: no joke – there will be dreams had about this queso and decor. And possibly trying to get Derek to install an accent wall of this wallpaper 🙂 The decor is stunning, staff is incredible, and food is top notch Tex Mex! Get the queso (obviously), crab guac, shrimp tacos and enchiladas!
Ferris Wheelers Backyard & BBQ: This theme-park-looking spot is the ultimate hang location. Great for all ages – it reminded us of the small amusement parks we grew up going to in NY, but with country music. The music is a 10, and even though the food unfortunately couldn’t match the vibes, we would come back here for drinks and brisket queso any time! Note: ferris wheel only runs on weekends 🙁
The Rustic: this place is sure to make anyone a country music fan, if you aren’t already. They have performances every single night, and it felt story-book Texas to us. Similar to Ferris Wheelers, it’s suitable for all ages, and the vibe is too cool. Here though, the food backs it up. Get the Texas goat cheese, hot chicken and cheese and frose!
Fuel City Taco: for the best tacos, in the most unsuspecting of places: a gas station. Oh Dallas, just YES. Derek was aching for an authentic, non-fussy, spot, and pretty sure that was delivered. Fuel City serves up some of the best tacos we’ve ever had, at a price you cannot beat. Get the beef fajita taco – you’re guaranteed to go back for seconds.
